GOODREADS

I have been reading a lot this year and in July another blogger recommended goodreads.com. I signed on there but didn't get into it. Then this week another blogger friend recommended it again. I went back and entered the book I am now reading. I don't know how to do any thing on that site either.
I now have a blogger, xanga, facebook, and goodreads sites. I am only familiar with xanga and that is changing so it gets harder and harder for me to keep up with anything.
What this year will hold for me in blog land is really uncertain. I really just wish to keep up with family and friends. I love seeing pictures of them all.

I have tried to post 2 entries and have lost both. I'm just to frustrated to do anything else today.

I'm not sure if I did this right. This is suppose to go with the naked ladies photos.
We go garage sale shopping every Fri. during the "season". I had been seeing the flowers all around the area and I just love them. I had some myself at our first house here in Gahanna and tried to bring some to the condo. Alas,they didn't make it.
Anyway, these ladies were in the front flower bed of a house out in the country.

MISH MASH OF THOUGHT

I haven't been here for awhile and it seems like doing any blog is a chore. I've had a few thoughts this morning.

Respect: We don't have enough of it. We diss those that don't think or act or feel the way we do. That's not respect. When I say we I mean myself and those I hear around me. I am surprised at what some people actually think.

Faith: Here again I hear people say theirs is the only faith. Nothing even slightly different is valid. This is were my faith comes in. It kind of tosses me in the lack of respect for those people. So all of us have prejudices. I try to be open minded and respect those who are different or think different and it is truly hard.

I had a stange dream last night. In it someone was asking to hire a bartender for a funeral for $31,000.00!!!!! I was just appauld! I told them even $ 20,000 was unrealistic. Then they wanted me to set up the bar!! I told them I had no idea what to do or anything at all about bartending and if they were paying someone to do the job it should include setting the thing up!! That was only one part.

We had the grand kids yesterday and it was fun. Gabe and Emma didn't have much to say about school. It's only been 5 days and I think Emma thinks it will all be over in October and she will move on to the 2nd grade. That's what she has interpreted something her teacher told them.

Lila's putting together sentences and of course it is cute as can be.

Sunday Deb came to visit and we had a good day. She brought pictures from her summer and they were great. I am so lucky to have her in the family. She has an inner strength I wish I had. I did show her how to take movies with her new camera and she is looking forward to get her grands on vid soon! Her camera is like mine and I showed her vids of my grands.

This has been a mish mash of thoughts and that is pretty much the state my mind is in right now. So mish mash it is!

Weekend With Lila

The family needed a mini vacation befor school started but Kings Island and a Reds game is just not what a 2 year old would enjoy. So oma & poppie's house was the best place for her. I am attempting to put in some pictures for Marci & Deb.
I can't seem to get the hang of this blogger site.
Anyway, the pictures are in the first blog which I couldn't figure out how to add the text. Then I found the edit button/list and am adding this post to go along with the first one....got it???? Oh well, I hope you two enjoy seeing how big she is now. It was her first weekend away from family and Fri nite was the worst. She didn't have her binky for bed and she wanted mommie all night.
Poppie made a run to the all night Meijer's for binkys and she finally got to sleep around 3AM.
Sat. night was better, only one wake up for mommy.
Sunday when they arrived back she was screaming and hugging them all at once. Mommy and Emma came in first and she was hugging and jumping. Then daddy came in the back door and a look and run to jump into his arms with screams of daddy daddy!
When poppie brought in a sleeping Gabe she went to the sofa and tried to hug him as he lay waking up.
IT was a touching scene and a great weekend for all of us.

August 1 2008

This is a happy 2 year old. I am only posting it here because the mom doesn't want kids photos on the net. Marci see how she's grown! I would love to share more pictures but alas I must abide by daughter's wishes. This will help me learn to delete I hope! Since the mom doesn't come to this site( I am hoping) I will leave it up for only a day or two. Then take it out.

Still no rain here so I hope it comes today since I will have grandkids tomorrow and want to take them to the pool.

Still doing the learning thingy

I am just making entries now to keep on top of what I've learned so far. It has threatened to rain for the whole week and so far no rain. It looks like it just may happen today.

We the sister in laws are going to see Mamma Mia today. I am looking forward to it!

We babysit the grandkids Sat. so that should be fun!

I am going to add a picture ......... Again I didn't know where it would pop up. I think there is a place where I can edit it???? Anyway, this is a sample of my cobalt collection with some of my garden flowers.

Going Going Gone

Again I have lost a new post. At least the server "blogger" gave me an error message this time. It seems I double clicked when I shouldn't have.

So it seems my travels this year have been to the border towns around Ohio. We have tripped to W.V. Kentucky, and Indiana in search of the illusive lottery winning tickets. These trips are really little go steve trips. I prefer true vacation trips. Alas, those probably will not happen this year.

The grandkids and oldest daughter go to a man made lake near them and the kids want us to come sometime. Hopefully, we will be able to make it before summer is out.

I have added a cheery profusion zinnia to brighten the day. So it's not in the position I want. at least it's here! Now to try to publish post!

LittleGo is not going

I don't think I will be making any vacation trips again this year. It seems we just can't seem to make plans and keep them.

The little go lynda trips have been little go steve to get lottery tickets trips. I think I've seen all the border towns of WV, Kentucky and Indiana this summer.

I hope to make one short trip to a man made lake the grandkids and daughter belong to. They have been asking us to come with them so we may just make it now that the baseball season is over.

Here's some strange thing I dreamt last night. While driving along a red escort wagon with the licsence plate" Burn 2" on it pulled in front of us and we were going to hit it when I woke up with a start/fear of crash!!!!!

I had some strange dreams last night. They had old friends and neighbors from years ago all meeting and acting like we just saw each other and time had not past.

I've been getting up around 2-3AM every morning and going to the other bedroom to finish out the night. Also, weird.

I am on book number 77 for the year. It takes place in AZ. and I'm beginning to think I like books that take me to other places. The one about a Greek isle really captivated me.

Off to visit a family friend of 43 years. She's been ailing lately so the sisters and I will be taking her to lunch in her little town.

A picture try and another learning day

I am going to try to learn this blog! I went to see the wedding and party pictures from a week end ago. They are really nice and I'm so glad all had a good time. I am going to attempt another picture here........

I took this picture then used Picnik to change the colors. I think it turned out pretty cool.

My learning curve is getting harder and harder but the old brain has to keep active!!!!

What I did this Weekend

We went to see the Grandboys and because of rain we spent most of the time inside. It was really fun and the boys loved the things we brought them! And of course it was Webkinz time when everyone was tired of being spies and riding stick horses.

I may get this right someday.

My nieceTeri has a blog here with pictures of her son's wedding party and his new baby. Yes, they can both happen at the same time!!

We missed the party to see the boys. Some times old people have a busy social life too!

JUNE AND SUMMER

It's the first day of summer and a little cooler than the usual first day. All is well with us and our off spring so far.
I am looking forward to bringing the grand kids over now that baseball will be over this next week. Emma has her game under Lights on Sat. and it will be the only game of hers we will have seen this year. It is her last year at T ball. Gabe has improved so much in Pups league. They will have tourneys for a few weeks in July.

Lila will be 2 the end of July and she has turned into the mommy's girl. For the first time this past week she shied away from me when Julie brought her into the house. It kind of made me sad. I know it's just a phase and she will get over it as she grows and continues to see us regularly. It only took her about a minute to climb into my lap, so I guess that's ok.

Gabe has turned into the big boy. Oma's only get hugs and kisses upon arrival and departure. Boys are just to busy for girly stuff. And he lost his first front tooth this week. How much moolah does the tooth fairy leave now????

Today is garage sale day. I am looking for treasures for kids and me! Nothing will top the coach purse find from last year. I got it for 25 cents and then found a quarter inside when I got home!!

May

Here it is May and I have not planted a single flower! I have some wonderful profusion zinnia seeds I collected last year and want to see if they will come back this year.
My hydranga plant looks pitiful! It has some green leaves at the base but it is so tiny I doubt it will bloom. Keeping my greenfingers and thumbs crossed.
Mother's day was wet and stormy but I did manage to get out to breakfast. And all the girls called!
Toay is make calls and buy some flowers since it's senior day at Meyers!

Computer virus!

Due to a bounch of spyware attacks this computer came down with a virus and we had to crash and start over!. Therefore I lose all my favorites and emails. I am now re entering all those things. So I need from my neice in Ill. the info to view her blog. I do miss seeing those lovely pictures of her gang and hearing all about the praises in her life! She has a way of making the most improbable and unexpected things turn into joys and praises! I envy her that ability. We all need that sometimes. So when you see this please email me the means of viewing again.

Getting to New Post Area

I have put this on my favorite page and it comes up with my entry but nowhere does it tell me to add a new entry. Well, now I know I have to go to dashboard. There is the new post area. I will save this now to favorites and it should come up with dashboard first!.

Learning by trial and error

I started a new entry and somehow lost it. I even down loaded a couple of pictures but can't figure out how to put them in the post. Did I do it before????? Well, this is just for me so I will keep trying for a while. I mostly come here to see pictures of my great neiece and nephews. It is a place where I can see how they are growing up and what is going on in their lives. I am a family person and love to see what is going on in all the generations lives. I can't post pictures of my grandkids but I can do other pictures. I know how to upload them but I don't know how to add them to the blog. Since I lost the other entry by trying to add pictures I think I will give it one last try.

Vibrations

Yesterday I had the strangest thing happen to me. I was riding along in the car and my right breast/chest area started to vibrate. I at first thought I had the cell phone there and it was doing it very weakly. I checked and found nothing. A little while later it happened again. I felt the area to see if I could feel it with my hand. No luck. It kept happening all day. I thought it may be the new shirt I had on that I hadn't washed before wearing so I changed it. Still got those vibrations.
As day left and night approached I had been told by a couple of people it was probably just stress related. Funny, I didn't feel stressed. I have had eye twitches and not realized it could be caused by stress. Well, all night long I dreamed of my cell phone going off. I woke at 4:30AM very tired from answering the cell all night!
It is morning and I am still having those little vibrations. They are so faint and pass so fast you'd think I could ignore them. I go to tai chi this morning and plan on totally relaxing and letting my system fill with good chi.
The dreary snow has returned and I just can't wait until it melts! I still love to see the crystal sparkles that light plays on the snow but I A TIRED OF IT! GO AWAY SNOW!
And go away vibrations.

It seems many people I know have a blogger site. They haven't been here because they can't find me! LOL I of course can't find them since I don't know their blogger site. This is a learning clurve for me so I am going to keep on plugging away until I figure out some of this stuff. I may add a picture now.

Happiness at seeing others happiness

I just finished reading my niece's blog here. She has a wonderful talent with a camera and has posted some great pictures of her family. She also writes beautifully. These things about her I learned just in the last 9 years. When her daughter was born I saw the photos she took of her and was so impressed.

I have been having some weird kind of emotions lately and I just can't seem to bring myself to make them public even to the husband. Since this is just a me kind of thing here I am going to try to spell it out.

My eyes want to cry all the time. It's really a strange feeling. I am not a crier as a rule and am considered the strong one in the family. Now I am also the oldest one in the family making it even harder for me to get out of that mold. There seems to be no reason for the weeps to come upon me. It is just out of ther clear blue sky.

I dreamed of my youngest last night and was unsure what it was all about. Usually I can relate the dreams back to what I have done, seen, or heard the day or two before. Also, since I read a lot some of the story lines end up in my dreams. All accountable but this dream was different. I really don't know why I was dreaming of her now.

I have cast my vote for the primary and am hoping my candidate will win. I guess we all want that.
It's time for my meds and food so until another day. peace and love be with you.

My First Entry

This is the first time I have actually set up a blog on my own. I'm not to sure what I'll be writing or putting in. It's pretty early in the morning and it's snowing here. Now I sound like a weather reporter.
A little about me: I'm a mom and grandmom. My grandkids call me Oma, which is German for grandma. It started because my first grandson had 3 sets of grandparents and 2 sets of great grandparents. Thus because its easy to say and different I became Oma.
